Oh dear Kat I loved this article. So true to how many of us feel as entrepreneurs trying to find the right path for us, our clients and our sanity! I feel your frustration, confusion and sadness.
But also that hunger to keep going and help others in all the ways you do. Keep going too. We need you Kat and will support you along the way 💜
Aww, thanks so much for this heartwarming comment and all the encouragement, Sabrina! It really meant a lot to read what you wrote. Big hugs to you!!
Glad that my desire to keep going still showed through, and glad it resonated with you, too. (Thanks for helping me feel less alone.) Because I do want this, even with this being quite the journey!
Lovely piece of writing Kat. Enjoyed reading it. Underlying theme of this really resonated with me. In the knowledge economy where we are selling our intellectual self, agree that we have to be able to open up a lot more than many of us would want to ideally. And then finding and projecting our sweet spot to differentiate.
I'm finding it's a very fine line I have to watch every day between hustle and human. Being true and kind to myself first so I can offer help to anyone else.
And listening to the signals coming from inside telling me what actions and attitudes align with me.
The more I stay rested and pay attention when to pivot from focused work into a walk, a chat, a cuppa, the happier I become.
Such a heartfelt post you wrote Kat. Thank you. I certainly relate to all you said. And appreciate your honesty and vulnerability here.
Thanks, Jeanette, for sharing what you do to stay aligned with you. I agree. It's such a fine line, and I'm keep trying to get better at course correcting. It's like working out. This is a practice that takes time and patience to master.
Appreciate the kind words, and glad you relate to all that I shared, too!
Thank you so much, Issa! Glad my voice came through my words, too, as I did have quite the feels writing this post, not knowing how it'd land. So I'm super grateful for your comment. Thanks again.
I'm late to listening to this, but it certainly arrives at a perfect time in my head.
The need to work to stay relevant, to be sociable, to engage, to invite and generally to have people interested in what I'm saying is challenging for an even bigger reason, consistency.
I can show up every day and write. I can be vulnerable. Once I start writing, I don't end up with fears about what to write or saying too much... I just don't shut up. No, my problem isn't on that side, it's coming back when I get 0 comments. It's hard to write this week when I don't see any increase in subscriber counts week over week.
So many entrepreneur 'mantras' suggest simplified advice, but the truth is that consistency is applicable to all the things you do. I can make myself a commodity today, but if nobody consumes, that's a different beast.
So, this is some good food for thought.
BTW I love and listened to the Podcast vs the newsletter, I realize how much more can come from being able to hear something in your voice. I love that you're doing this and hope you keep it up!
Never too late, Jody! Whenever you come across this is the perfect time. Glad you found your way here.
Ah, yes. Having that positive feedback loop of creating content and getting engagement helps with your motivation to continue on for sure. I know those feels of "writing out to the void and getting crickets". That's when I sought out guidance for growth strategies and then got into a whole other burnout rabbit hole there, too. 😅
What I learned from all that is... (1) it all comes down to being social and engaging with others regularly, (2) being shameless and consistent about sharing/promoting your stuff everywhere, (3) being a part of a community of likeminded people who supports each other to improve your writing and engage, too, and (4) have patience as you never know when it'll just take off!
I'm cheering you on, Jody! Thanks for all of your encouragement, and I'll be sure to keep going!
Thank you for your vulnerability, Kat! I have felt this way and have also lamented spending a lot of money on training and books, some of which I haven't started yet. I consider it an investment in my future business.
But I know I can help people, and I love connecting with all those souls who share my interests enough to take courses and join groups. We are all pulled toward something, and articles like this keep us moving forward on the journey.
Awww, of course, Shannon! Thanks so much, and yes, I believe in you! You do have so much to share, and all you've invested in and all the people you've connected with are a part of what you've being pulled towards. Glad my posts are encouraging you to keep going. You got this!
I so resonated with your article, Kat! Thank you for sharing your vulnerability! It's definitely a balancing act between who we are online and offline. How much of us do we want to share online? It's a journey each of us gets to be on and decide for ourselves. The good thing is that it's always our choice and that you are not alone. We are right there with you!!
So proud of you for writing this article that touches so many writers' journey right now! Keep shining your light, Kat! Your words are the world's medicine!
Thank you, thank you from the bottom of heart! Your encouragement and support are so appreciated, Lotus Empress. I'll have to save and bookmark these words when I need a little positivity boost.
I'm so touched by all these comments here, and it does prove how vulnerability can powerfully connect people.

I guess we're in this together baby! Even if we stumble, we forge ahead!
Hell yah, Sabrina!! We got this, and we can pull each other up when that happens.
Exactly that Kat! That's the power of community. We hold each other up when one of us falters
Yup. People follow people. Niches and interests will come and go.
People initially follow niches and interests but they stay because of the person.
BUT they'll also quickly fall off once goals and interests deviate.
We're all on this journey of finding our people... whether because we're likeminded or looking for help.

Really loved this post Kat, could really resonate with a lot of it, and I think the wisdom you offer at the end is really spot on.
