For me: I have always had - 'shiny object syndrome' - it's only now in my 64th year that I finally understand how to work with it - instead of fighting it.
This is the crux of it!
" .....but the key is to get clear about why you truly want that and what sacrifices you’re willing to make."
Oh, the shiny object syndrome... that has plagued me for so long, too! Sometimes it can still pop out of nowhere, and I have to intentionally reel that in. Glad this post resonated with you, Janet!
Pausing and doing a gut check have helped, along with adhering to my "less but better" motto this year.
Entrepreneurship is hard and not for the faint of heart. One day you’re struggling and the next your bank account is full then you’re struggling again.
I absolutely agree. Entrepreneurship isn't for the faint of heart... and IT IS HARD!
No matter what you choose, being an entrepreneur or an employee, there will be pros and cons to that choice. It all depends on what matters most to you and what you're willing to sacrifice and risk.
Hi Kat! This article resonated with me so much because I feel all of what you have written.
In the Now, I remind myself that "There" is "Here". I remind myself that in order to feel the abundance that I want in the future, I get to feel the abundance Now, in this perfect present moment with gratitude and love for everything that continues to happen for me and not to me.
Thank you for writing such a beautiful article, Kat!! Keep shining your light!! The world needs your medicine!
Great article Kat and it resonates so much with my solopreneur journey. Sometimes things work, often they don't. But maybe they will when you're not even looking. I'm more wary of the gurus that don't talk about the tough stuff now. Plus trying not to have magpie syndrome and keep getting new things unless I have a clear requirement for it. All part of the journey I guess!
For sure, Sabrina! With the internet at our fingertips, we instantly have access to so many more resources and people, too. Now it's about intentionally weeding out what doesn't align and quieting all those voices vying for our attention. Wise discernment is much needed, especially if you're an entrepreneur as we're faced with endless possibilities.
Cheering you on! We're all learning and growing from this journey.
Thanks for sharing openly Kat🙏

Be prepared for the hamster wheel.
On the other hand I get to take naps!

Awww, so glad this resonated with you so much and appreciate your encouraging compliments, Lotus Empress!
Ohhh, I love that reframe of "there" IS "here". That's a really good one. Making this shift, too, and reminding myself of that. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Kat! You liking the reframe gave me the idea to post it on Twitter/X for our writing challenge! Thank you!
Yesss! That’d be perfect.
You are very welcome, Kat! Have a great day!
